About Fat Mouse and Skinny Mouse

Written for children aged 4-8, Fat Mouse and Skinny Mouse is about two mice who live in Laos, a beautiful county near Thailand. Eager for adventure, they set off with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency to a remote village where they learn about the importance of washing their hands.

Why I Wrote It

I’ve been telling my own children Fat Mouse and Skinny Mouse stories since they were small. I wrote the book after visiting remote schools in Laos that had no books at all, and villages where children get very sick. The book is illustrated by Thaj Thao and has both Lao and English text so it can be used in schools as a teaching resource.

Who Likes It?

When I visit schools children tell me it is great! They love it when Fat Mouse gets sick, washes his paws and finds his missing ring. And teachers tell me that it's a great way of introducing children to another culture and needs in the world.

“I love it. I like it when Fat Mouse get’s sick and flies through the air and finds his ring.” Year 2 student, Avondale Schools.

Where Can I Get It?

Fat Mouse and Skinny Mouse is self-published and can be purchased directly from me as a fundraiser for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). Send me a letter or email!
